In 2017 horrifying footage emerged of a Shanghai woman whose leg got trapped in a faulty door as the lift moved off. The grisly CCTV footage shows a woman walking into a lift on her phone and tripping and falling between the closing doors. Initial reports said her leg was ripped off, but it was later revealed the woman's lower leg was crushed, but surgeons were able to save it and she recovered from her ordeal.
