In 1934, a pair of disappearances left Glacier National Park authorities scratching their heads. First was the disappearance of long serving and reportedly very popular Episcopalian Bishop William F. Faber, who failed to return from a pre-dinner stroll along a familiar lakeside trail in mid-July of that year. A month later the much younger Dr. Frederick H. Lumley, an associate professor at Ohio State, vanished from the park’s northern extreme during what should have been a very straightforward hike. Neither man’s fate was ever fully explained, and in both cases witness statements seemed inconsistent or even downright dishonest - and in one case it almost seems like the authorities were trying to make the whole story go away before anyone could start asking too many questions.
