Throughout history, humans have wondered about communication with the deceased. This compilation documents seven cases from D. Scott Rogo and Raymond Bayless's 1979 research into "phantom phone calls." From Ida Lupino receiving information about hidden documents from her father to a Marine's mother hearing "Mom, it hurts" at the moment of her son's battlefield injury, these cases follow patterns: recently deceased make brief calls, while those longer gone maintain clearer conversations. With evidence from switchboard operators and witnesses, these communications challenge our understanding of mortality, suggesting telephones occasionally serve as conduits for messages from beyond.
