Possessive Boyfriend Does The Unthinkable...

This photograph of 18-year-old Jolee is particularly heart-breaking when you realise that just minutes after her boyfriend Loren Bunner took the photograph, he shot her in the back of her head, and after turning her over shot her again between the eyes. Then he pushed her off the 40-foot cliff

The young couple had dated for a while but split up when Bunner became possessive and jealous. Jolee's previous attempts to leave Bunner had failed when he threatened suicide. In August of 2015 Bunner asked Jolee to go for a hike, "as friends" in Cheaha State Park, Alabama. Bunner posted three photos of Jolee on his Instagram account that day, this image being the last. On the drive home Bunner contacted the police and confessed before pulling over to wait for his arrest. As though she knew something wasn't right Jolee messaged her friend the night before the trip and said, "If something happens to me, you'll know who I was with".
Bunner pleaded not guilty to murder claiming that the couple had a suicide-pact, which after killing Jolee, he said he couldn't go through with. Despite being only 18 Bunner was tried as an adult, found guilty of murder and given a 52-year sentence.
