In 2019, two families in Santa Fe TX reported a "man sized monkey" rummaging through their yard at night. This story was taken seriously because the terms bigfoot or sasquatch never came up. Animal Control never really cemented an official story on what was going on, theories ranged from a capuchin, a chimp, a spider monkey, all the way to a bipedal raccoon.

This is a rare example of a bigfoot sighting spree that didn't devolve to a laughing stock, and therefore, it should be taken seriously.
