The woeful sound of howling echoes across the still night air, sending a chill through the blood. It is estimated that over a period of 300 years, from the 14th to the 17th century, up to 100,000 people were executed in Europe on the charge of being a werewolf. The lycanthropy epidemics, as they were known, caused a real fear across the continent.

In this video, we explore the myths and legends surrounding Werewolves, from their origins in ancient folklore to their modern-day depictions. We'll look at the different interpretations of werewolves, some that are believed to be the result of a curse, whilst others believed to be worshippers of Satan and the work of the devil...Are they really flesh and blood creatures or just beastly apparitions?
