Disney's adaptation of the story was their first full-length animated musical feature film, released in 1937. It proved to be a huge success, and to this day, *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs* remains one of the top ten films of all time, adored by generations of children and adults alike. However the original story of Snow White differs significantly from the feel good film, and is an altogether darker tale filled with themes of jealousy, murder, cannibalism, and pedophilia.
