Reportedly recorded by a device known as the Chronovisor, this image and other audio recordings are said to have been picked up by a device supposedly in the possession of the Vatican. According to its inventor, the Chronovisor is able to detect and decode electromagnetic signals left by past events. Such a machine would allow viewers to peer back at the greatest events in history
The Chronovisor is described by Father François Brune in Le nouveau mystère du Vatican, or "The Vatican's New Mystery." Brune authored several books on the paranormal and its relation to religion. Brune learned of the machine in the early 1960s. In his book, he details his meeting with one of the scientists who created it, a physicist turned priest, Father Pellegrino Ernetti. Brune described how the two discussed the device at length as they sailed the Grand Canal of Venice. Ernetti claimed that a cabal of 12 of the greatest scientists in the world added in the Chonovisor’s invention. Brune was amazed at the promise of such a machine and thoroughly convinced of its existence. The true nature of the device and its fate, however, remain closely guarded secrets…
