For centuries, astronomers thought Neptune was a quiet, boring planet. A featureless blue ball at the edge of the Solar System. Then Voyager 2 flew past in 1989 and everything changed. They found winds five times faster than Earth's most powerful hurricanes. A Great Dark Spot that appeared and then vanished without explanation. A magnetic field so tilted it makes no sense. And deep inside, scientists believe it rains diamonds.
