No Footprints, Only Blood | The Vottovaara Incident

A hundred Soviet soldiers climbed Finland's sacred Mount Vottovaara, or "Death Mountain" in 1939. Two days later, every single one was lifeless. Bodies torn apart, limbs scattered across blood-soaked snow. The mystery? Not one footprint from an attacker. No enemy casualties. No explanation. Finnish scouts found spent shell casings everywhere, proving the soldiers fought desperately against something. But fought what? Sami elders had warned them: the mountain's spirits don't forgive trespassers. The Soviets dismissed it as superstition. They were wrong. What force can eliminate an entire armed company without leaving a single track in fresh snow?
