In 1992, a Japanese television crew from Tokyo Broadcasting Services travelled into the Republic of the Congo while producing a documentary about one of Africa’s most enduring mysterious creatures, Mokele Mbembe. During the expedition, the crew flew above Lake Tele, a remote body of water surrounded by dense forest and vast swamp systems. While looking down from the aircraft, they reportedly noticed a large disturbance moving across the surface.
