Here’s a piece of advice: do not research the Betz sphere, not because it’ll result in shadowy government agents knocking on your door, but because this story is a nightmare to try and nail down since no one’s reports match anyone else’s; so you’ll be left as the grizzled old drunk at the end of the bar with haunted eyes who locals whisper about because you “just haven’t been the same since That Summer of 2026,” when you gazed for long into the abyss, and the abyss gazed also into you but did not ever cite its sources. Here’s what we know for sure: sometime in the spring of 1974, the Betz family found a metal sphere. The Navy looked at it, scientists looked at it, reporters looked at it, and now we don’t know for sure where it is. Welcome back to The Lore Lodge...
